1. Where can I find the codes adopted for enforcement in the Atlanta area?

2. Specifically, is the IEBC (Existing Code) adopted in that area? I understand it is a Code the must be permitted for use in a locality.

3. Is Chapter 43 of the NFPA 101 available for use?

4. Do Code officials in that area (both plan review and inspections) know the existing codes regarding "work area" and "reconfigured spaces" to be able to converse regarding a repair project that includes roofing, siding, and interior finish without a major reconfiguration of space?

Have you checked the city web sites, should tell you what code and edtion is adopted

PLAN REVIEW

Most plan reviews will be performed within ten (10) business days. Plans are reviewed for compliance with current and applicable codes. These codes include, but are not limited to Georgia's Construction Codes, Building Energy Codes, Georgia Accessibility Codes, and the International Building Code.

Sottdale is in DeKalb County, GA. Bill King is the building official there. He is the guy to call. I don't have a number, should be easy to find at DeKalb County, Georgia

Georgia has state mandated codes, some mandatory and some permissive. They all have state amendments. Some localities have local amendments also.

The State codes and amendments are at DCA | Construction Codes

I was in the Atlanta area for a while. Good Luck.

RLM,

To be accurately informed, you will probably have to call the

jurisdictions in which you have projects or questions.....That

will provide the clearest information that you seek !
