Occupancy: Manufacturing & Storage

Cold Storage high rack areas.

Temp’s: -10 degrees Holding Freezers and -40 degree Blast Freezers. The Blast Freezers are deep.

What is your take on EXIT doors and their arrangement if required?

Travel distances to the EXITS or Exit Access Doors if required?

It seems the Client feels an AX will do for egress in lieu of multi-doors. Thief is a problem with more than one door.

In case I missed something; is there any exceptions for these type spaces?

If you have high piled stock you need your firefighter access doors

Monitor or alarm the required exit doors

Minimum occupant load might cut down number of exits

What is length and width ????

Do not see any breaks unless you get a low occupant load and travel distance

Looks like if it is high piled you need the access doors

it is a storage occupancy, and has to meet the exit requirements for such occupancy.

Thank you all for your input. Chicken is the frozen items. I put together some Code sections that pretain to the Plant's operation and sent to my friend who asked. Thanks for the info on the High Pile did not think about that being in the Fire Code. Code software has not been reinstalled on my home computer so I could not look up stuff last night.
