In a 2 exit building, according to IBC 2018 sec 1026 no more than 50% of the exits can be horizontal, so I can have 1 horizontal exit. If the second exit is a interior exit stairway, can it comply with exception 1 in 1028.1?
The commentary states "up to 50 percent of the interior exit stairways in a building may use either Exception 1 or 2; therefore, neither exception is viable for a single exit building."
My gut feeling seems this means, since I have only 1 stair, this is not allowable, even though I have 2 exits.
