Commercial Fire Barrier Inspections (Renovations)

In a commercial building, no matter the type, whether an office space or mid-rise/high-rise condo, when do you:

1) do the fire penetration inspections. (during framing?)
2) do the fire barrier inspection (after drywall screw?)

Also, when does your fire department get involved vs the building inspector for items in chapter 7 and other related such as chapter 9?

Here FD does a little more looking.

Normally penetration done right before it gets covered up, mainly because trades keep making holes.

Fire barrier almost the same answer.

Normally, though almost anytime I am in the building, I am looking. I like to get ahead of things.

Sometimes we require third party, with spot check follow up, because the third party is a joke most of the time.

1 & 2 every inspection that is done for the wall: framing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, insulation, drywall and final.

The volunteer's of the local fire company don't know anything about codes and have no certifications or insurance to do an construction inspection.
