Concrete Batch Plant

floydman,

Is your batch plant incorporated with an office building of some type

or are they totally separated?

.

floydman,

Thx for the input! Do you know if the existing office bldg. has a

C. of O. already? If the existing office bldg. has a C. of O. as

a "B" Occ. Group, and they add a batch plant, this will change

the C. of O. designation to an F-2 & B, ...which could trigger

updates to the existing office bldg. Refer to Ch. 34 in the 2009

IBC for the potential updates. The F-2 Occ. Group designation

comes from Section 306.3 in the 2009 IBC. This designation,

IMO, most closely resembles an F-2.

Well thinking about it

This is just a large concrete mixer,

Does the machine itself even fall under the ibc

Maybe a "u"

Buildings and structures of an accessory character and miscellaneous structures not classified in any specific occupancy shall be constructed, equipped and maintained to conform to the requirements of this code commensurate with the fire and life hazard incidental to their occupancy. Group U shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

cda,

Good question and reasoning! I was thinking of the larger sized concrete

batch plants where someone is inside a 360 degree view office perched up

high so that they could communicate with the truck drivers being loaded.

There ARE smaller sized, non-occupied, mobile batch plants out there.

We need some more info from "floydman" on the particular type of batch

plant he is referring to.
