Can I have vinyl windows in the exterior wall of type 2B construction. I'm using the 2015 International Code.

Not if the windows are required to be protected. However, Section 603.1, subparagraph 6, allows combustible materials in Type II construction for "millwork, such as doors, door frames, window sashes and frames." Although it states "millwork," I would tend to believe that any combustible material besides wood would be acceptable.

Got it thanks.
