Part 9, Section 9.10.6 says "Where a building is required to be of noncombustible construction..." Is there a section in Part 9 where is determines your building must be of noncombustible construction (as it would in Part 3.2.2)? Or is this speaking to noncombustible parts of the building such as fire separations?

Further to my question, could this be referring to Table 9.10.12.5-A where exterior wall construction of exposed building face is either noncombustible or combustible?
 
The only place that comes to mind is in spatial separation in 9.10.14. If the building is very close to the property line, the exposing construction may need to be non-combustible. In addition to 9.10.6.1., you might want to see 9.10.8.4., which requires anything required to be of non-combustible construction to be supported by non-combustible construction. This can be challenging with modern platform construction as most floor joists are wood.
