Is there a problem in this attic?

Maybe .............. maybe not.

Dry wall screws are sufficient for holding up the fixture.

While I might not put a light bulb that close to a gas line, the reason would be that it makes it difficult to change the bulb.

% % % %RJJ,

What code section would you cite to have them move it?

He said "ask" not make.....I have certainly "asked" people to do things that I can't require...I tell them why, and explain that I can't make them do it, but it is probably a good idea....they usually appreciate the info...

In the AHJ climate [ here ], we are regularly "asked" to provide a code section as

to why we are asking someone to do something.....It has a lot to do with the "We

been doin' it this way for 30 yrs. and ain't never had no problems......Who

do I need to call?" mentality.

All Joking aside: The first issue is separation! See Gastite safety warnings. #5 & 6.

Also, And I don't have the electric code at hand. The exposed bulb should not be with in 12 " of combustibles. I would believe the gas line could meet the intent. Now if it has a cover then maybe a none issue. exception manufactures install guide lines and common sense.

RJJ, points to the Gastite Lightning Safety Warning #5 & #6, IMO that is enough to ask that the CSST be move away to at least the other side of the framing member!

From #5: Maintain as much seperation as resonably possible from other electrically conductive systems in the building.

RJJ,

Which system was installed first, ...the electrical wiring, or the CSST?

Then ask the 2nd trades person to move their install.
