Deck joist overlapping question

Would there be any structural advantage to overlap (2) 2x8x12 deck joists over the center of a double 2x10 drop beam. Span from ledger board to drop beam is 9-ft and span between drop beams is 9-ft/ This would create a 6-ft overlap directly over the drop beam. Seems like this would add a little more strength to the joists at the drop beam, in stread of just butting 2x8’s end-to-end over the center of the drop beam.

The strength is generally not needed over the beam....If you attach the "cantilever" well, it could help with some bounciness in the 2x8 joists...
