Do we need regionally specific areas within this site?

Not where I really want to be
We can add another section that will break down into regionally specific areas for those that have questions that are very specific to regional, state codes. Examples are:

Florida, California, Pennsylvania's UCC administration section, etc., New York State, NYC, etc.

This will also assist with search engine placement as we will have more abundance within the same overall topic.

Thoughts?

It can be set up so that the page is not so long as they will be sub-topics

While it is helpful for specific locally amended codes, I also like to see the comparisons as to how other jurisdictions handle the same issue. Creating specific geographic sites might stifle that kind of exchanges.

Since most of the activity is in regions other than mine, I'd rather not have breakdowns. I think it will limit the amount of post responses to general questions that are not limited by region.

Excellent observation. This was 1 of my concerns looking at it that way.

Looking another way, there are very specific things that NJ has changed in their code and if someone from NJ answers a question in the general area, it may be taken as that and the OP may think they found the answer when if fact they did not.

Maybe we can start this and keep it limited to specific code alterations and regional news. You can always check for new posts and not care where it is actually located anyway. If I click on "what's new", I am reading the thread header, not where it is located.

It would be similar to adding specific sections for different code years, for the same reasons (excepting the search engine placement factor).

I do not think it would be a bad thing, but like the topic of whether or not to have chat rooms, the differentiating that occurs in the threads as is, even regional differentiation, adds something to the comprehension of the discussions for everyone.

Jersey.............who cares...........juzz kidding :)

I agree with CD with respect to currently, differences are typically explained as specific to states or regions and I also like to see some of the more proactive approaches to interpretations.

I have to agree with CD on this matter. Regionalization of the board could cause an unmanageable mess, IMHO.

If I have a CA specific question, I try to post "CA" in the title line so that anyone can read, comment, or skip.

Sue, in sunny chilly CA
