Does a roof overhang need to meet the fire resistance rating of Table 601 Roof Construction?

This is a Type IIA building, four stories tall. The roof is a noncombustible hip roof with 1-hour SFRM (Sprayed Fire-Resistive Material) to satisfy Table 601. At the front of the building, the hip roof extends approximately 20 feet over an egress balcony and exterior egress stairs. On the other three sides, the roof overhangs by about 3 feet to form eaves. All structural elements, both interior and exterior, will be fire-protected.

My question is: does the 1-hour SFRM we are considering for the roof deck in the interior of the buildings also need to be applied to the roof deck at the overhangs? I'm a bit unclear because Section 705.2 (Projections) refers to projections like roof eaves, roof overhangs, balconies, ect. needing to be of noncombustible construction (for my type of construction), but it doesn’t mention Table 601 or fire-resistance ratings.

Great first post and welcome to THE Forum….. pretty sure you can get away without it, but I don’t have a hard answer on that right now…
