Hello All,

We are having a water park built here in our jurisdiction. I'm hoping someone can give me some guidance on figuring occupant load, so I can get an idea of widths for the egress components. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance for your input.

from IBC Table 1004.1

Pools - 50 square feet per person

Pool Decks - 15 square feet per persons

All areas are gross

Similar to an airport where it is necessary to draw imaginary lines between circulation space and more concentrated uses, there will probably be a need to differentiate between a pool deck and circulation space, while also providing for queuing at service windows. A comprehensive fire safety and evacuation plan should be prepared based on IFC 404.
