Egress door definition - Patient rooms

Is a door from an I-2 patient room opening to an interior corridor considered an egress door? CBC 2013
If not, can it then be a 36" door with surface mounted panic hardware, or must it be 44" clear?

I would say the door is an egress door, and, per the CBC, a 44-inch clear width is required if the door is used for the movement of beds and litter patients.

So, if I have a 48" door the hardware may project under 2019 CFC if it is between 38 & 80"?

Not according to 2019 CFC per OSHPD FLS, must allow for gurneys to move through
