Hypothetically, I have a corridor with Emergency Lighting that
will come on with the loss of normal power......The "required"
level of foot candles is 1.0 for navigating through the corridor
and out of the bldg. when needed [ per 1006.2, `12 IBC ].
The "required" minimum amount of lighting to provide the 1 FC
will be through emergency circuitry on the existing lighting
fixtures, say every 4th light fixture in the corridor.
QUESTION: Is there a Code; Energy or otherwise, that states
that I cannot have all of the light fixtures in the corridor to
come on with the loss of normal power [ i.e. - having more FC
than required ] ?
I ask this question, because the Energy Nazi's & their Movement
want to impose their agenda on [ seemingly ] every aspect of
construction.
Please cite your sources if possible......Thanks !
