Ekotrope VS ResCheck

Understood, and almost exactly what the ERI path speaks about, which Res-Check could never calculate. The refrence to state acceptance was simply to say its no fly by night software.

It is for a HERS rating which is above code and more stringent than REScheck. We would accept it
One word of caution. A HERS index could be given to a 100 year old home. Just because it has a home energy rating certificate does NOT mean state or iecc code has been met. Additionally the hers Index for the area could be met with prescriptive measures not being verified. Things like building cavities for ducts, R3 pipe insulation etc may actually not be in compliance, but the index shows over all compliance. As i work in a HERS index mandated town, we require the home energy rating certificate to show the home met the 2018 IECC as well....
