Just looked at a large indoor self storage facility. Commented that they needed to demonstrate compliance with the IBC for the number and dispersion of the units, and the operation of the doors per the accessibility standard. (Interior access so no lip in the floor.) What exactly they come up with remains to be seen. They made no reference to or provided any provisions for accessibility, nor to any hardware at all. Guessing a balanced roll-up with rope pulls or maybe an automatic opener of some sort. The performance requirements seem to be easy enough except for the locking mechanism, which usually involve locks that would be questionable. Did not consider the MOE once inside because in order to close the door behind them the same rope and pull would be needed so it would also be there to get out.
Waiting to see.....
