in 72 is there a reference for placing smoke detectors on high ceiligngs??

or is it per manufacter listing??

looking at 29 foot ceilings

thanks

I saw that for heats, but there is not a similar section for smoke detectors, or refers smokes back to this section

High Celings?

See 5.7.3.2.3.1 TIA and then it’s the manufacturer’s listing; air flow, ceiling height; configuration; expected fire scenario and Annex B4. Since the ceiling heights are reaching various listing heights the use of engineering analysis for fire flows and stratification potentials is necessary and potential closer spacing than the standard 30 foot rule for smooth ceilings may need consideration by the designer.
