I am currently doing a plan review for a renovation of a M occupancy using the 2018 IFC. Currently the entire building is Sprinklered and is divided into 3 units. The sprinkler riser is located in unit C (with no occupant notification devices) and the FACP is located in unit A and has occupant notification devices. The new business will be combining units B & C by removing a interior wall. The combined units will be separated from unit A by a 1 hr. fire wall.
My question is does there need to be a separate alarm system for each tenant monitoring the sprinkler system or can they share the alarm as long as there are occupant notification devices throughout both buildings? Also would a pull station be required for each tenant?
