Fire Escape Egress from Occupied Roof

I have a 1060 sf occupied roof as part of an R-2 use. The occupied roof will be used by the tenants of the building - no public access.
The occupant load equates to 71 occupants, using 15 net/sf, which would require (2) exits be provided. One exit from the occupied roof would require the occupants to exit thru the building to an adjacent interior exit stair.
An exterior fire escape system is in place for a portion of the R-2 tenants. Can I use the existing fire escape as my second means of egress? The existing fire escape would need a slight modification to allow for a short stair to connect from the occupied roof level to a fire escape platform, which then connects to the fire escape stair leading to grade.

The building is provided with a sprinkler system per NFPA13. The occupied roof is adjacent to the fourth floor of a five story building.
