I have an existing community center (strip mall) in Indiana. The client needs to construct a fire partition due to new tenants. The question I can't seem to find is the minimum distance required from the point of termination of the fire partition to an existing opening. I am combing over Chapter 7 and can't seem to find the requirements. The requirements for a Fire Wall are clear...however I thought there was a minimum distance?? Please help?

Opening as in door ??? Or something else?

Or to where it meets the store front glass?

Either a door or window....it depends on what side of the wall the space is. One side has a door...the other space has a window. I thought the minimum distance was 2-feet. But I am obviously incorrect.
