Has anyone used this for fire protection of I joist to conform to R302.13 2018 IRC?

We are being asked to allow this option to leave the I-joist open and not have to put on drywall.

With a 3/8" OSB Web, how long would it take for a fire to destroy any structural strength? Don't care if there is a loophole in the code, this is NOT SAWN LUMBER so you better suggest they protect that assembly

It took some tracing links through other links. For the 4400 material, the company claims it is "an IBC and IRC compliant alternative to pressure treated FRTW products." But ... it's it doesn't have an ICC-ES report. Their web site provides (if you poke around enough) a link to a test report from DrJ, which I guess is an independent testing laboratory -- but not (to my knowledge) a listing or labeling agency. And the material was tested using the ASTM E84 protocol. E84 is a test for surface flame spread of finish materials, it is NOT a test for the fire resistance of structural components.

I am not impressed. I think it's snake oil.
 
^^^ Correction: The IBC uses the ASTM E84 test as a test for FRTW, if it passes an extended 20-minute burn test. The report from DrJ says this material passes that test.

Bottom line: I don't like it, but if I were to reject it I'd probably get sued.
