Fire rating for exterior doors?

This might be a double-posting, as I cannot tell if it went through.....

If the exterior walls of a building are not required to be rated, would any of the exterior doors have to be rated? We have an electrical room which is required to have 1-hour rating, and its only door is to the exterior (no doors open to the interior of the building). Is there any reason that exterior door would have to be rated?

There is an exterior wall rating based on building separation in the IBC which tells you this requirement. I'm on the iPhone right now so you can read this:

If the wall isn't required to be rated, then the openings wouldn't either, typically.

Linda, only if the door requires panic hardware, then the door would have to be listed for use with the life safety hardware - generally, these doors are heavier duty doors
