Fire Separation Distance for combustible roof

R302.1 establishes a 5' separation for the wall, but what is the point of having a one hour rated wall 2' from a property line if you have an unprotected combustible roof connected to it?

Where is the code section that would require a parapet wall or other roof protection for a single family home within the fire separation distance?
