anyone have a solid or rough figure of

a. what per centage of existing buildings in the US have a fire sprinkler system? both commercial and residential

b. What per centage of new construction will have fire sprinklers installed?

You may want to look at ISO reports or Insurance Company stats for policies with fire protection. The number or % is growing with code changes over the last 15 years.
