The issue of the effective date for the Florida Building Code, will be taken up by the Commission at upcoming June Commission meeting. This may affect the adoption date of the National Electrical Code 2011 edition.

Florida Fire Prevention Code

The Florida Fire Prevention Code is adopted by the State Fire Marshal at three year intervals as required by Chapter 633.202, Florida Statutes. This complex set of fire code provisions are enforced by the local fire official within each county, municipality, and special fire district in the state. The county, municipality or special district in which you reside may also have local amendments applicable only to your community.

2013 FFPC Adoption Proceedings

There will be two rule hearings for the promulgation of the triennial update for the FFPC and Rule 69A-3.012 on May 15 and May 21, 2014. Locations and times are listed below:
