I used to work at the base in Tx they flew out of.

The U.S. military says C-130 air tankers can resume firefighting missions following a crash that left three people dead on Sunday, the Associated Press reports.

The C-130s were temporarily grounded after one went down while battling a wildfire in South Dakota.

The Charlotte Observer reports that a third person has died in Sunday's crash, The Charlotte Observer reports.

Update at 11:38 a.m. ET: The military says C-130 tanker planes to resume firefighting missions after deadly crash.

Update at 11:19 a.m. ET: The Observer quotes family members and officials as identifying the dead as Lt. Col. Paul Mikeal of Mooresville, N.C., Master Sgt. Robert Cannon of Charlotte and Joe McCormick of Belmont.

South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard has confirmed the death of at least two crewmembers from Sunday's crash, the Rapid City Journal reports.

A fourth crewmember is in a South Dakota hospital with serious injuries, The Observer reports.
