In the 2006 IRC, IMC and IFC is there a section for fuel gas exhaust vent clearances to combustibles?

In a garage is a gas water heater with a single wall exhaust vent running through an attic and out the roof.

Thank you,

Rick

Re: Fuel Gas Exaust Vent

See IFGC 503.7 also. Single wall vent pipe can only go from the appliance directly to the outdoors with no other spaces in between. Also 503.7.6 specifically prohibits single wall pipe in attics. b vent or chimney required

Re: Fuel Gas Exaust Vent

If this is residential then look at section G2727.7 for single wall metal pipe requirements for gas appliances. IFGC and IMC are applicable only to commercial projects. It cannot originate in or pass through an attic or concealed space. Section G2427.7.7 deals with clearances to combustibles.
