Gas meter vs. window opening

Is there a requirement that a gas meter be located greater than 3 feet from an openable window in any of the codes. Arguement with 2 inspectors can't find any requirement only an AGA recommendation. This is a department next to my area and they asked me and I cannot find any requirement, but one of them says he remebers reading it. Can anyone settle an agruement. Thanks
