We have a case where the homeowner is claiming the black csst Gas piping was installed prior to their buying the home. The realtors pics show iron pipe, and the investigation picture shows black csst. So the challenge is to prove when the pipe was installed.
Turns out there is a date stamp on all GASTITE Flash Shield csst gas piping.
FYI: The date stamp is found on the side that says the size. There is a Tcode-number. Under the Tcode-number there is a 4 digit number. The first two numbers are the year. The last 2 numbers are the week in that year.
TC0393 = Tcode-Number
1849 = 49th week in 2018
I also learned that the BLACK Flash Shield csst was first manufactured by Gastite in August of 2010. And they stopped production of the YELLOW Gastite csst in 2015.
