Ghost towns

Listened to talk radio yesterday while driving to a job. The show was a talk by a person in Detroit government. The solution, get Washington DC to bail out Detroit, nothing about cutting costs, services, just get free money from Washington.

detroit is on its way. May take a little while longer. Most ghost towns didnt have the population density detroit once had.

Detroit and Flint are already pretty much there (they are also the 2 most dangerous cities in the US right now).

Flint has been on the slide since 1998 (when I moved to Michigan); Detroit started to decline shortly after the ICC conference there.

I was at the Detroit conference; the bubble burst in Michigan shortly after that.. conference was in 2005 or 2006 .. I lived in Michigan then.. lived the decline, bought the tee-shirt and shut the lights off when I left.
