Roadmap for Local Governments:

Guidance for Developing a Residential Green Building Ordinance

Are you looking for the best way to align your green building ordinance with the new CALGreen code? Since the adoption of California's first statewide Green Building Code, or CALGreen, many local governments are revisiting their green building ordinances. Build It Green’s Roadmap for Local Governments can help.

Whether a city is looking to write a simple ordinance or create a detailed green building program, the Roadmap is a free resource that offers guidance gathered from the experiences of cities and counties across the state. The Roadmap provides guidance and recommendations on:

•Developing an energy efficiency or green building ordinance

•Updating an ordinance in light of CALGreen

•Linking ordinances and voluntary programs
