Hello

Can someone possibly direct me to any Building or fire code that covers Hazardous process rooms?

Specifically.

A section that would require that a room (Test Cell) that is Running a hazardous process/test must have a visible indicator outside of said area' to advise personnel that there is an hazard in the cell and to DO NOT ENTER?

Thanks!

Brian

What is the hazardous process? In some cases brings in building and fire code issues in others is an OSHA issue.

There are various but specifically running a test rig that could be using Jet A to live test a component.

407.3 Identification. Individual containers of hazardous materials, cartons or packages shall be marked or labeled in accordance with applicable federal regulations. Buildings, rooms and spaces containing hazardous materials shall be identified by hazard warning signs in accordance with Section 2703.5.

Who are you trying to protect workers or firefighters??
both

Room protected by Wet Sprinkler system.

When process is running there is no way to know that the room maybe hazardous to enter. I've seen some ammonia test rooms that have an outside light (Red/Yellow/Green) indicating levels of process.

well during normal ops, seems like workers who should be there would monitor the process.

During an incident, good question, if the incident is in the room, than someone with the plant should be informing the ff of the problem, if they are just wondering through the building, hopefully they will some how know the process is going on.

maybe preplan situation??? and ask nicely for some signage???
