Greetings all

I've been asked to do a presentation to a bunch of realtors and the like on a range of topics. Since one of the topics is historic distict issues, I sure would like to incorporate some info on historic district fires. I know there have been several the last few years but nowhere can I find any details like results of investigations and so forth.

Might some of you find folks have some suggestions or places to look for enlightenment? I would be greatly appreciative!

Upon your completion of information gathering and presentation development please remind the attendees the importance of maintaining the fire rated separations between these historic buildings especially when connected by proximity and common stairwells like old downtown districts.

We have had two neighboring fires with multiple building losses due to the lack of separation maintenance and inspection over the years. Also remind them of the importance of fire prevention bureaus and community risk reduction programs and partnerships. Our city fathers developed a program of zero interest loans and grants to increase the fire protection in our historic downtown districts since prior to my arrival you could walk the entire block through buildings on the upper stories, very scary.

Exceptional educational opportunity for you, best wishes.
