How NOT to Install Deck Flashing on a T-111 House

Oh, There was no flashing, and now the entire rim board in this area, along with a whole bunch of floor joist ends, are rotted, and your deck is in your yard. Poconos style!

There's been a lot of code changes trying to prevent this sort of damage and to make decks safe.

I know this isn't a cantilever deck but we see this a lot with cantilevers, then there's the repair scenarios, very seldom does the contractor want to go back 2/3, all kinds of issues with plumbing and electrical runs.
