How to meet the 2 hour separation between an A2 and R2

Some of these products can also be used to raise construction type, Otherwise unprotected steel, Type IIB construction, could be elevated to IIA or even Type I depending on the applied thickness and final fire resistance rating achieved.

Not sure about overall cost benefit though. Material cost may (or may not) be comparable, but the special inspectors and inspections may increase costs for the project.

Looks like it can only be one hour according to the specs
They have lots of testing data to support up to 2 hours but it is dependent on the type of existing construction which they must evaluate first. The mfg already stated that they can't help everyone.

How do you use paint to provide a separate fire area for the new A-2. Two A-2s would be 100+ occupants, I assume that the R-2s have an excess of 1 occupant? Non sprinkler building.
