Jeff,

Wanted to make sure you keep us supporters up to date if the funds are running low.

I originally intended to keep up annual donations, but am willing to adjust as needed.

So far since the server change around January 19th 2011:

Revenue: $2,935

Expenses: $2,612

I am waiting on a bill from the IT company for some updates and another update just popped up.

Right now we are holding our own and the Google AdSense is helping out. If it were not for the initial donations that were received in January, this would never work. The trickle in since then would not be adequate if we did not have that initial inrush.

I was reluctant to post this but after thinking about it, I don't see the harm. If we accepted regular banner advertising, this may work without donations.

Personally, I don't have a problem with banner advertising.... I don't mind pitching in either. Just let us know what you need to keep this afloat with out burdening you!

Good to hear.

Agree with Beach, the adds are pretty tame compared to many sites I visit, and a simple donation makes them go away.

This is a great site, that has exceeded my expectations!! Kudos

I'd rather not see them, but if we all give a little every couple of months, hopefully we can keep up.. otherwise.. full steam ahead.

This is without a doubt the most important board to me. I can live with banners given Jeff can find enough sponsors to support this. In a perfect world, I would love to see this stay member supported.

I too am in favor of NOT having the banners "IF" Jeff can make it

work financially.

Because Jeff has about a million things to do, I will ask for him.

If you have already donated and become a Forum Supporter,

..."Thank you!"

This Forum Family would like to encourage you to send in another

donation, so that Jeff does not have to formally ask us.

The minimal amount of banners currently on the site is tolerable.

Let us all work together to keep this site the best on the internet.

And "Thank You" [ in advance ] for your support! :D

My experience is that you only see the banner ads when you are not logged in. Sometimes I browse and don't log in and I see the fluke thermal thing. As soon as I log in, it goes away.

I gave back in January and will gladly give again, whenever needed.

The forum is exceptional and the contribuitors all offer some very good POV's.

And I can read through them and usually get a good laugh on some of the comments.

Thanks.

I'd prefer to see the banner policy remain unchanged and am willing to pay to maintain that Policy. At the same time It's your show Jeff, I'm good with whatever decision you make.

Thanks for providing this GREAT site!

Just out of curiosity I thought I'd see how many members are forum supporters. I came up with 42 [rough count just scrolling through the 'community' list. That is 2.6% of the total membership of 1,587. I did not include the moderators, but I think they 'pay their dues' by performing services to the forum. With that in mind, I'd offer that in these economic down-turn times just keeping the board going is a most worthwhile effort. Thank you Jeff! And, thank you to to fellow supporters! Life is good.
