I Need A Vacation.........

and I'm taking one!

I'm flying out of Reno on September 7th for Milwaukee and parts north, specifically the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan.

Anyone familiar with the area, any sights? I'm going to go to Picture Rocks State Park and, other than that, no other itenerary. Just spend some time with my Mom, her friend, and my friend who moved there last year.

Great bird watching, hiking, mines, caves, shipwrecks, nature sanctuaries and the Keweenaw water trail is fabulous if you like canoeing. You can’t go wrong up there in the U.P. pre fall or in the fall. Bring a jacket since it’s starting to cool off up there now…..my neck is starting to thicken with the coming fall. Have a wonderful time and enjoy the De Yoopers

The closest airport for me is in Reno, only a three hour drive........ I live in a city of about 2,500 in the wilds of CA, where the west still lives........yee haw!

I toured the Miller plant in the early 70's with my then roommate from college. Both of her brothers worked there, and they kept a large stock of Miller High Like in the coolers at her folks florist shop. It was always fun to go visit her folks.......

I would love to tour the Harley plant, maybe could hit it on the way back to Milwaukee.
