IBC 2009 - door block another doorway

Any and all doors can be used as a means of egress. Just because they do not put an EXIT sign over the door does not mean it cannot be used as a means of egress. You do not have control over which doors or egress routes people will use to move about in a building. I would site the door on egress encroachment.

Concider moving the rear exit door and incorporate the office into kitchen, eliminating the conflict
 
1005.2 refers specifically to "required" egress width, which this is not.

I agree there are simple options available to avoid the situation. I might say this current design is lazy, but I don't see how it is non-compliant. It's more of a convenience issue for the kitchen staff than it is a life safety issue.
