I've been there before but just can't find the clause saying smoke curtain is required at the elevator door.

I looked chapter 7 and chapter 30 but didn't find the clause. What I missed?

Thank you in advance!

Not near the books, but have not seen a smoke curtain in a long time.

May be because past the 09 code use?

I think it's like although an elevator lobby is not required, the elevator door is opening to the corridor, soa smoke&draft control required. But still, it's back to fi the elevator door is meeting the UL 1784

You are correct and the code section is 2012 IBC 713.14.1 Exception 3
3. Enclosed elevator lobbies are not required where additional doors are provided at the hoistway opening in accordance with Section 3002.6. Such doors shall comply with the smoke and draft control door assembly requirements in Section 716.5.3.1 when tested in accordance with UL 1784 without an artificial bottom seal.

I got more information regarding this topic. Some cities in Colorado take clause 1018.6 corridor continuity to require a smoke curtain at elevator door even when an elevator lobby is not required. Some cities, on the other hand, do not require that. But in 2018 IBC, it states clearly an elevator door opening to the corridor will need to have smoke control.
