We end up doing a lot of split-face wall assemblies. What we would typically do is fur out the interior w/ mtl studs w/ R13 fiberglass batts. Now the 2009 is keen on continuous insulation. Even though this wall assembly typically still passes Comcheck, it looks like we're going to have to revise this detail.

So would this wall assembly be considered a "metal framed" wall or a "mass" wall? (I don't know the weight of a square foot of split-face off the top of my head, so I don't even know if mass is an option)

btw, I'm in zone 5
