if you have ever seen one of these::: recall

Same company, doing the same thing they have for decades. It works well enough for them to keep doing it, I guess. I always wondered how they sleep at night.

It certainly seems like the price for what they are installing is quite high. Obviously this is just a guess because I don't know all of the specifications for the equipment they will be using nor how they will be installing it. I do know however that we installed an extremely professionally done and very functional complete home alarm system including smoke, heat and CO2 detectors as well as perimeter protection, glass breaking into motion detectors for about the same price.

Some people have paid 500 a piece for them

Plus there have been a few lawsuits because they did not activate

Having attended a few of these meetings incognito, I always ask - what standard is this device tested to? Is this the same standard that the el-cheapo smoke detector tested to?

Then they realize, i work in a Fire MArshal's Office --- generally get asked to leave at that point.

Just don't mention the company's name (whatever it is this year) in any of your consumer warnings or they will try to sue your city/department........trust me! I know of cases where families have spent 2500 to $4000 for residential coverage :(
