There are (2) 3 bay sinks in a manufacturing facility, utilizing chemicals, that will be used for cleaning tools, brushes, maybe some pots. This is not food related. The sinks are in a room with emergency shower / eye wash stations and multiple trench drains (chemical spillage containment.) The trench drains, 3 bay sinks, and hand sinks all convey their effluent to a sump which will be pumped out and sent to a waste water treatment area. The company is utilizing an indirect waste (air break, not air gap) at an existing facility, but that does not mean it is correct. Are the 3 bay sinks permitted to utilize an indirect waste?

Section 802 Indirect Wastes
802.1 Where required. Food-handling equipment, in other than dwelling units, clear-waste, humidifiers, dishwashing machines and utensils, pots, pans and dishwashing sinks shall discharge through an indirect waste pipe as specified in Section s802.1.1 through 802.1.7. Fixtures not required to be indirectly connected by this section and the exception to Section 301.6 shall be directly connected to the plumbing system in accordance with Chapter 7.

802.1.5 Nonpotable clear-water waste. Where devices and equipment such as process tanks, filters, drips and boilers discharge nonpotable water to the building drainage system, the discharge shall be through an indirect waste pipe by means of an air break or an air gap.

Thank you

I do not think 802.1.5 applies, and would require that they be directly connected in accordance with chapter 7, as you indicated in the code section you quoted.
