Hi All,

We plan to install a Power Wall 3 in an open-air light well that is 4'x12' and two stories high in our home in San Francisco. My questions are:
  1. What size does the door accessing the light well from the garage need to be for building codes or fire safety?
  2. Does the door need to be fire-rated?
  3. Does the door need to have an automatic closure mechanism?
Thank you for your help!

Bill

Does the fire department have to approve the location? Is the location in direct sunlight? I am not aware of any requirements for the door.
