I read about a fire chief who wrote an article called "Significance of the Closed Door" for International Fire Professional magazine. I would love to read this article, but the only mention I can find of this publication online is a subscription that costs $250 for 4 issues. Have any of you seen this article? It was in the April issue.

Many truck firefighters have been closing doors during their unprotected search. Yes, we now call it vent-enter-isolate-search (VEIS) to be clear. VES and door control has been part of that tactic for more than a decade.
