Japan's Tsunami

Buildings and the codes were never designed to deal with forces like this. The tsunami is what caused the major problems with Japan's nuclear reactors, the damage would have been much, much less if the reactors had only had to deal with the earthquakes. Makes me pause and think where the heck will I go if such a thing were to happen here to me - we don't have much in the way of mountains or even hills in Houston.
