For those that approve tempoary tents, no matter what size,

do you require any documentation that the way they are set up, are designed to handle a wind load?

do you have a minimum wind load that they are required to meet?

2403.9 Anchorage required. Tents or membrane structures

and their appurtenances shall be adequately roped, braced and

anchored to withstand the elements of weather and prevent

against collapsing. Documentation of structural stability shall

be furnished to the fire code official on request.

Could this be "visual" documentation by the fire code official,

rather than written?

We require documentation showing flame retardency, layout of chairs or equipment (if large enough) for proper egress, anchorage, any electrical, and site plan.

With recent events and the vagueness in the codes, one would expect future clairifications for meeting a single minimum wind load and increased gusts.

Yes we expect them to meet the wind load criteria established in accordance with the building code.

Was looking for wind load reference Big Mac refered to

That would be covered under the structural strength......90MPH here.....and something tells me the tent inspections/ permit process are going to be a little more thorough this year....
