Hey everyone, I have been trying to look through codes in Nelson County KY, and KY in general and nothing seems to clearly state the requirements for cutting a hole in the roof for a bathroom exhaust vent. I have a basic idea of what to do. I already have a vent, it just goes into the attic. I want to make sure when I route it through the roof it doesn't sprout up on an inspection that it doesn't meet code and has to be moved. My attic uses passive ventilation and I have 2 sewer vents in my roof. I can upload pics if needed. Thanks everyone!

You are correct it needs to go through the roof, very simple to do is make sure you flash it well say don't get a leak. Just go to any of the big-box stores and they will have what you need. I'm surprised to pass inspection going into the attic in the 1st place.

It can also go through a wall or an eave. It should not discharge into the attic because the condensing moisture will eventualy damage the structure.
