During your development review process, does your ordinance define calculating the maximum density for a lot by rounding up or down?
For example:

If you have a 1.6 acre lot that has a maximum density (lets assume Residential Multiple Family High Density) of 16 units per acre, the math says 25.6 units for that property. Does your ordinance address the density number now that we have a fraction?

Rounding up the 0.4 to add one more unit sells better
to the developer & contractor [ i.e. - a little more profit
by adding one more unit ].......And even if the number
was rounded down, the developer "could" apply for a
variance to round up.........It's still about them Benjamins !

Just sayin'...

We are moving away from set density zoning per se and turning to allowing the developer to build to the extent the site can contain required parking on site. In other words it has to be a self contained site in terms of our set parking regulations. When you think about it this just seems fairer .
