And I am. I might be driving a snowplow this winter.

By the end of November we will be down 4 city personnel since July 1, when the admin quit. She took care of 4 departments' admin duties. My boss is splitting his time between the city and the county, he's trying to save the county as part time CAO. City Treasure is retiring November 1 and 1 guy from PW is retiring officially in February but will be leaving November 30 on 'vacation'.

On Tuesday, the day after the Columbus Day holiday, I learned the one of the PW guys passed away on Columbus Day. He was 49.

Front office is now down to 3.5 people & public works (road/w&s dept.) has 4.5 people, not including me.

I am waiting to try on my new hats...............at least I'll be full time? ;) Stay tuned........

Sue

It's a small town after all..........:cowboy

Welcome to the club! I'm a back-up plow operator for PW.

If you "accidentally" plow into a building or two, you'll stimulate the construction and permitting business.

I drove a plow for a several winters when I lived in the local mountains...... when the construction slows down, you gotta do what you gotta do! It's actually pretty fun, until you see pieces of red tail light lense where you "thought" was a large drift....... DOH!

very nice...if you accidentally do that here, your next shift is in the truck with a hole in the floor board and no heat. I spend christmas on call for the PW guys so they can spend some holiday time with their family if they don't want the double time instead. I actually enjoy it.

Sue,

Where else are you going to go to have that much fun, ...get paid

for it, ...hopefully to keep adding to your retirement account and

actually have an active, participating role in your community's

development?.....Besides, it is still "what Sue says, ...goes" isn't it? :D

I'm on call on Saturdays for refueling planes at the local mini-cipal airport so that my co-workers can go to their kids' ballgames. I like my time at the airport, everyone is happy.
