Mixed Use Occupancy Corridor Use

Single story building 1/2 Assembly and 1/2 Business.

Would like to not have to rate a corridor that links the two portions of the building or separate the two areas of the building with fire rated construction.

Area calculations thus far don't in themselves require rated corridors or separation.

The Assembly space is a portion of the total building and will use the multi-user toilets that are contained off of the corridor in the B area of the building.

The way I'm considering presenting this is that because the Assembly area has it's own exits (2 exits directly to the outside), even though the assembly area also has 2 additional doors that enter into the business corridor, that for purposes of establishing fire rated construction requirements the fact that the exits directly off of the assembly room will handle the total assembly room occupant load, then we don't need to add the occupant load of the assembly area into the occupant load of the business side. Thus corridor effectively only needs to be designed to handle the business use occupant component. Even though the occupants in the assembly area will be using the toilets in the buisness area?

Am I on the right track here?

1-hour corridors are required per Table 1018.1 (2012 IBC) if no sprinklers are provided and the occupant load served by the corridor is greater than 30. If the assembly occupancies can exit directly to the exterior and not use the corridor and the occupant load from the Group B area using the corridor is less than 30, then a rated corridor is not required.
